Nazareth House, Cape Town, South Africa provides a secure and happy home for abandoned, neglected, disabled and orphaned children - many of whom are the innocent victims of poverty and the HIV & AIDS pandemic. We were the first Children's Home in the Western Cape to accept an HIV infected baby, and he still lives with us today.
Children receive holistic care, ensuring their emotional, medical, educational, nutritional and social needs are met to the fullest extent. Although we receive a government subsidy for each child in our care, the amount falls far short of the actual cost of caring for little ones with special needs, and we rely on donations from caring individuals and companies to help make ends meet. For more information, see www.nazhouse.org.za Dear Soul Catherine gave me your email address so I can thank you for the wonderful gift of three camp cots which she delivered to us yesterday. I understand that this is from a donation given by you, to be used in our Children's Home. Thank you so much, we really appreciate your generosity! We have just completed building a new cottage for our babies and toddlers, and we have been busy trying to get all the equipment and furniture to go in it. Top of the list for the bedrooms was some new camp cots - we find them really useful for all the extra little ones who are brought into us for emergency care by the Child Protection Centre and the police. When Catherine mentioned your gift I thought it would at least buy one camp cot, so you can imagine my delight when she arrived yesterday with three brand new cots and the mattresses to fit! I am waiting until we actually move across to the cottage before I unpack them and put them to use, and then I will send you a photo of them. Hopefully we will be settled in during the next month. Once again, very many thanks, and may God bless you and your family. Kind regards |
I applaud your efforts to organise parenting workshops, it's certainly a very worthy initiative. I … see it as one of the most important preventative steps a community can make towards safeguarding and optimizing the well-being of children.
