Kids Cuisine Kitchen Workshop
Are you a busy parent? Do your kids have a “picky palate”? Are you conscientious about what your kids eat (most the time!)? Do you know the basics about nutrition but want more help? Do you always cook the same food, same food, same food? If you answer YES to any of these questions, then you may find this Passionate Parenting healthy kitchen workshop is just what you need for January: a good push in the right direction… New ideas for EASY breakfasts, lunch-boxes, dinners and snacks. After a HECTIC Christmas and New Year silly season, perhaps you need a boost to your home’s “Kids-Cuisine”. This workshop, 7:30pm on January 18th will lift you out of your “survival” food-rut with some sparkling, easy to make, delicious recipes for family breakfasts, easy lunch box menus and no fuss tasty supper time treats. Tried and tested on the most fussy of eaters, young and old (and their friends). Most of us end up cooking the same dozen or so meals over and over again. Then, when we try and introduce a new vegetable or grain we face a barrage of resistance from our most discerning of customers - yes - the kids! This “Kids Cuisine” Kitchen Workshop begins with a mystery tasting of home-made foods and favourite products and then, presenter, Kathy Voyles ("Foodie, Activist, Gardener, Speaker, Connector - A legend in her own lunch box") will introduce you to her before school breakfast line-up (guaranteed to keep kids active and energized for a long morning of learning), moving on to a lunch box full of treasures and then to the last meal of the day: simple wholesome, delicious suppers. We won’t forget the snacks! This 2.5 hour workshop is for busy parents - for those who find cooking a chore but want to find new skills to keep their family healthy and well fed, but also for those who love to spend their time in the kitchen and make up their own recipes. Kathy's experience is that we can all learn from each other and that her own cuisine is constantly evolving and changing as her family grows. With 20 years experience of finding products in The Netherlands and a variety of cooking courses under her belt, she will be able to give you tips and knowledge gleaned from a life-time passion for food. "We all develop our own special and distinctive style of cuisine and traditions which evolves as we move countries, try new foods and learn from each other - with this course, we are here to lend a hand - to assist you to create simple and delicious foods that will keep you and your family feeling healthy and well fed in the dark winter months!" This workshop is in the Hague, venue announced upon registration. The cost is €45 per person and €70 for couples. To register, please visit www.passionateparenting.nl or call Soul Robertson 064 185 7773. Half the profits from these community service seminars and workshops go to South African Charities. I applaud your efforts to organise parenting workshops, it's certainly a very worthy initiative. I … see it as one of the most important preventative steps a community can make towards safeguarding and optimizing the well-being of children.
